At the end of the trading day on the designated payment date, dividends will be distributed and credited to your account automatically. If you own fractional shares, your dividend payments will be calculated based on the fraction of shares you hold.
To receive a company's dividend payment, you must have purchased shares of the company's stock before the ex-dividend date. However, you may still be eligible for the payment if you hold your shares after the ex-dividend date or sell them on that date.
It is worth noting that if you buy shares on or after the ex-dividend date, or sell your shares before the ex-dividend date, you will not qualify for the dividend payment.
